Last week Tesla gave Elon Musk shares worth £22.3bn. That would pay for 100 doctors for 1,560 years.
When the Tesla board approved Elon Musk's latest pay award last week, it told its shareholders the $30bn package would "incentivise", "energise" and "focus" the billionaire chief executive. While that may be true, it's a sum so high it's essentially meaningless.
