More than 220 MPs are calling for the UK to recognise the state of Palestine this week when 40 nations meet to discuss the Middle East crisis. As we watch hunger being used as a weapon of war, our constituents rightly ask what difference more words will make when children are gasping for breath and bread.
It is now 131 days since the ceasefire collapsed. Despite evidence that almost half of those killed are children, Israel’s government threatens new outrages daily. Plans to expel the remaining 2 million people from Gaza and turn it into a “hi-tech luxury resort” are a new low.
