Year after its completion, Bemina flyover develop cracks; probe ordered

Just a year after being thrown open for the public, cracks have appeared on the muchanticipated Bemina flyover in Srinagar city, triggering concern among the commuters and the locals alike.

The Roads & Buildings (R&B) Department, which constructed the flyover, said the cracks appeared because of seasonal changes and are merely nothing and will not have any effect on safety of the bridge.

As per the details available with the news agency, a visibly cracked section of the flyover, captured in images ci! culated on social media, shows structural cracks along a joint between concrete slabs, drawing public criticism.
