The practice of meditation is the practice of controlling ones thoughts and learning to focus your thoughts is the key for meditation.

Decorate your Meditation Room

You must focus on the subject you are meditating on — love, success, money, happiness and peace. Before we can start effective meditation, we have to make sure that our environment is conducive. You cannot get pure thoughts in a dirty, smelly, filthy room. If there is too much noise coming in from other rooms, you are setting yourself up for failure and will give up easily because you cannot concentrate.

Designing a meditation room

This can be an incredibly enjoyable and satisfying process. If you are fortunate enough to have a space that you can dedicate purely to the practice of meditation, then what you read here will help you to create your very own special sanctuary.

A meditation room is meant to be a place of relaxation and serenity. Any source of distraction, such as TV, computer and telephone, should be kept out of the space. Decorating your meditation room is a very personal thing, since everyone has different ways of relaxing. Your meditation room should be a room that you can walk into and instantly begin to feel relaxed in. Everything in the room — the colors, the items, the decorations should help you with your daily meditation. Therefore, your deliberations for your own meditation room are important and vital for continued success with meditation.

Location

Choose a room that is as far from distraction as possible. If you live in an apartment or condo, use a space that doesn't share a wall with other units.
