MP govt asked to reply on jail term of rape convict

THE Supreme Court has sought an explanation from the Madhya Pradesh government over continued imprisonment of a rape convict for over eight years, despite having undergone his seven-year sentence.

Earlier, the SC stressed that convict should be immediately released from jail after completing the jail sentences.
