Visakha Dairy Increases Milk Price, CPM Urges Government to Reduce It

The Visakhapatnam District Committee of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) has strongly opposed Visakha Dairy's recent decision to hike milk prices by ₹2 per litre, with the revised rates coming into effect from 10 May.
The party called on the state coalition government to immediately intervene and roll back the increase, citing public hardship.
In a statement issued on Friday, the CPI(M) criticised the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), Jana Sena, and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)—the alliance now in power—for their earlier objections to a similar hike implemented by Visakha Dairy in 2023.
