Pondy varsity to invite applications for 200 faculty and admin posts

PONDICHERRY University will soon move to fill around 100 vacant posts of faculty and an equal number of administrative posts to strengthen the functioning of the university, Vice Chancellor P Prakash Babu said.
Briefing the media on Wednesday, V-C Prakash Babu said within a couple of months, the University would begin the recruitment process by calling for applications to these posts. On the decline in the University's National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) ranking, which has slipped from 13th in 2016 to 101-150 rank band in 2024, he said the competition from many private universities established in the recent past has led to the sharp decline. Private universities could upgrade their facilities as they have more funds while the Pondicherry University has to consult the Ministry of Education for upgradation, said the V-C.
