A 28-year-old married woman was gang raped by five youths after her husband was held captive in Bihar’s Begusarai district.

The incident occurred on the night of June 11. A medical examination on Thursday confirmed the rape and revealed a live bullet, a stone and a piece of wood in her private parts.

The survivor is undergoing treatment at Sadar Hospital in the district headquarters. In her statement before a court, she said five youths forcibly detained her when she had gone outside to attend the call of nature. The accused took her to a secluded location, tied her hands and feet with a rope, and raped her, she said.
