23 injured as Kannauj railway station building collapses, rescue ops on

AT least 23 people were injured when an under-construction building at the Kannauj Railway Station collapsed on Saturday afternoon, trapping around two dozen workers under the rubble, officials said.

Six of them were pulled out and rushed to hospital. Three of them sustained critical injuries and were sent to KGMU Trauma Centre in Lucknow for treatment.

UP CM Yogi Adityanath, while directing officials to ensure safe recovery of those trapped inside, rushed two teams of the State Disaster Relief Force from Lucknow to assist in rescue operation along with a dog squad.
