Decision comes in wake of railway authorities requesting the return of their land occupied by market; traders urge govt to consider relocation to GS Raju Road
THE iconic Rajiv Gandhi Flower Market, popularly known as the Vijayawada Flower Market, is all set for relocation, with the Vijayawada Municipal Corporation (VMC) intensifying plans to shift the facility to a site near the Excel Plant in Ajith Singh Nagar.
The decision comes in the wake of Railway authorities requesting the return of their land currently occupied by the market.
VMC officials confirmed that four acres of land have already been allocated for the new market and a Government Order (GO) was issued a few years ago.
