Lokayukta report cites lack of evidence in ₹1.3-cr bribe charge; court finds no link between loan & BTC steward nomination
IN a significant relief to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, the special court for criminal cases against sitting and former MPs/MLAs has accepted the closure report filed by the Lokayukta police.
The court ruled that "there was no act of quid pro quo" against Siddaramaiah, who was accused of receiving ₹1.30 crore for nominating a steward for the Bangalore Turf Club (BTC).
The Lokayukta police cited lack of evidence to proceed against Siddaramaiah and L Vivekananda (accused No 2), as complainant NR Ramesh failed to appear before the investigation officer.
