Ensure no name is removed from list, Mamata tells BLOs

WEST Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee on Monday urged the state booth level officers (BLOs) to ensure that no names are removed from the voters' list, while emphasizing that they are employees of the state government.

Her remarks assume significance as it comes at a time when the Election Commission of India (ECI) recently conducted a controversial special intensive revision (SIR) of the voters' list in Bihar. Opposition parties, including the Trinamool Congress, have accused the ECI of acting at the behest of the BJP.
