Agri min distributes welfare aid worth ₹47 cr to 4K beneficiaries

ON the occasion of Equality Day, Tamil Nadu Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare Minister MRK Panneerselvam distributed welfare assistance worth ₹47.02 crore to 4,377 beneficiaries at a function held at Saint Vallanar Higher Secondary School in Thiruppathiripuliyur, Cuddalore.
The event was presided over by collector Sibi Adhithya Senthil Kumar and attended by Cuddalore MLA G Iyyappan.
Addressing the gathering, minister Panneerselvam said, "April 14, the birth anniversary of Dr BR Ambedkar, is being observed as Equality Day across Tamil Nadu. As the first Law and Justice Minister of independent India, Dr Ambedkar played an important role in ensuring the rights of marginalized communities. Various welfare schemes are being implemented to support Scheduled Castes (SCs) and Scheduled Tribes (STs)."
