1 Killed, 7 Injured as Crackers Explode at Funeral Procession in Ulundurpet

ONE person was killed and seven others sustained serious injuries in a firecracker explosion during a funeral procession at Keelkuppam Vellur village near Ulundurpet on Wednesday evening.
According to police, P Elumalai (55), a resident of Keelkuppam Vellur, passed away on Monday due to ill health. The funeral procession took place on Wednesday evening, with a large number of relatives in attendance. As the procession moved from his house to the cremation ground, country-made firecrackers were burst as part of the rituals.
