Minister Narayana asserts that 'people's capital' is a self-sustaining, says 90% of arrangements for PM's visit have been completed

The cost of developed land in Amaravati area has risen by ₹20 to ₹30 crores, Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister Dr Ponguru Narayana said. In an interaction with Principal Correspondent K Kalyan Krishna Kumar, Minister Narayana discussed the preparations for Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit on May 2 to relaunch the 'People's Capital Amaravati'.

According to the minister, the capital area spans 34,000 acres, and even if 30% is utilised for key infrastructure development, around 25,000 acres of land would remain in the government's hands.

Based on the minister's calculation, the land's value would be approximately ₹5 lakh crore.

An amount of ₹5,000 crore was spent in 2014 on foundation works, but several technical issues under
