VOC Port sets new record in handling single-day volume

THE VO Chidambaranar Port handled an all-time high single day's volume of 2,04,650 tonnes on February 23, surpassing its previous single day volume of 2,04,512 tonnes achieved on October 30, 2024.
According to officials, the port had handled over 75,662 tonnes of container cargo, and 1,28,989 tonnes of bulk cargoes combinedly in all the 16 berths operated in the VOC port on February 23. The previous record was 2.04 lakh tonne in a single day on October 30, 2024. The port had ensured this record result due to robust operat
