THE Madurai Bench of Madras High Court on Friday sought response from the central and state governments on a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) that sought a direction to build retaining walls for the safety of devotees visiting the Subramaniya Swamy temple in Tiruchendur against the damages caused by sea erosion.
Hindu Dharma Parishad, represented by its managing trustee KK Ramesh, stated in the petition that devotees who take a holy dip in the sea adjacent to the temple are exposed to dangerous rocks due to sea erosion and sustain injuries.
