Distribution of Pongal hampers for Lankan refugees from Jan 9

DISTRICT Collector Dr K P Karthikeyan chaired a meeting at the collectorate to discuss the distribution of Pongal gift hampers to all ration cardholders and families residing in Sri Lankan Tamil refugee camps here on Friday.
"As per the government directive, each beneficiary will receive 1 kg of raw rice, 1 kg of sugar, and a whole sugarcane under the PDS. The distribution is scheduled to commence on January 9 at all fair price shops across the district. Special officers in the rank of deputy collector have been appointed to oversee and ensure proper execution of this scheme. District Adi Dravidar Welfar
