MTNL Defaults on Loans Worth Over ₹8,300 Crore

MAHANAGAR Telephone Nigam Limited (MTNL) has reported defaults totaling ₹8,346 crore in principal and interest payments to several banks.
In an exchange filing, the telecom operator said that the total default amount comprises ₹7,794 crore in principal and ₹552 crore in overdue interest owed to banks including Union Bank of India, Bank of India, Punjab National Bank, State Bank of India, UCO Bank, Punjab and Sind Bank, and Indian Overseas Bank.
