|August 21, 2025
A lawyer from Madhya Pradesh, Archana Tiwari, 29, who went missing from a train on August 7, was traced near the Indo-Nepal border 12 days later and brought back to Bhopal.
She had staged her own disappearance to escape family pressure to get married.
Archana, a resident of Katni and posted in Indore, was traveling home for Raksha Bandhan on the Indore-Bilaspur Narmada Express when she vanished. Her bag and belongings were found on the seat, sparking fears that she had fallen off the train. Police launched a massive search, scanning over 2,000 CCTV clips, combing forests with drones, and even searching the Narmada River.
