MADHABI PURI BUCH, the first woman and the first person from the private sector to head markets watchdog SEBI, will leave the corner room of the SEBI Bhawan in BKC on Friday.
An IIM-A alumna, Buch has had more hits than misses when it comes to regulatory achievements that she continued to discharge even after being hit by a volley of allegations by the New York-based short-seller Hindenburg in August 2024 of conflict of interests and excessive control over the SEBI staff. As per the allegations, SEBI allegedly favoured those companies with which her husband Dhaval has had commercial interests.
