Wetland filling for KINFRA park at Puzhakkal: Residents voice concerns

KIINFRA has about 25 acres of land at Puzhakkal allocated for industrial units
WHILE the 2018 floods taught a hard lesson to the people across the state, it seems that has not prevented authorities from giving sanction to unscientific land filling especially in ecologically fragile areas. In the latest incident, the wetland at Puzhakkal is being filled with tonnes of soil as part of setting up an industrial park of KINFRA there.
KIINFRA has about 25 acres of land at Puzhakkal allocated for industrial units. While the land remained unused for many years, the state agency has now started filling it with soil as the area forms part of a wetland.
