Ninth edition of fest, conducted by Niracharthu Kala Samskarika Samithi, to conclude today
NESTLED between lush, green paddy fields and misty hillocks, Enkakkad is a quiet hamlet which has given birth to a number of artists in various fields, right from literature to cinema. Now, thanks to Niracharthu Kala Samskarika Samithi, this village boasts more art students than any hamlet in Kerala, the fruits of tireless efforts by a group of committed art lovers to take artists and their works to ordinary people's reach.
As the 9th edition of Ni Fest, National Art Camp and Village Art Fest, concludes on Sunday, the children of Enkakkad are waiting for the next season to host artists and learn from experts who come from different genres and milieus.
"When we began the fest in 2015, it was an entirely new experiment. But people cooperated with us brilliantly and many were eager to know about artistic works like drawings, sketching, painting etc. Now, children, who got inspired from the initial camps, have now taken up either courses or careers in art. That is something we are really proud of," said Sathish, coordinator of the event.
