Maha minister's aide kingpin in sarpanch murder case: CID

THE CID chargesheet has named NCP minister Dhanjay Munde's close aide Walmik Karad as the main accused in Massajjog sarpanch Santosh Deshmukh murder case in Maharashtra's Beed district.

The CID has filed its 1800-page chargesheet in the case before the Special Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) court against eight accused. "Walmik Karad is the main accused. Vishnu Chate, Sudharshan Ghule, Pratik Ghule, Jairam Chate, Sudhir Sangale, Sidharth Sonawane and Krishna Andhale are also accused," says the chargesheet, which this newspaper has accessed.

According to the chargesheet, five witnesses shared confidential information on condition of anonymity, stating that the murder of Santosh Deshmukh was carried out in a brutal way on the order of Karad.
