Diljit's Chandigarh concert exceeded noise level limits

|December 19, 2024
THE Chandigarh administration told the Punjab and Haryana High Court on Wednesday that the noise levels exceeded the prescribed limits during Punjabi singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh's concert here on Saturday and that "strict action" has been recommended against the violators.
A division bench of Chief Justice Sheel Nagu and Justice Anil Kshetarpal on December 13 had allowed Dosanjh's event with a direction that the organisers comply with noise pollution regulations. A PIL was filed by local resident Ranjeet Singh who had sought directions to the Chandigarh UT administration on the management of public events at Sector 34 exhibition ground, including those relating to noise pollution and crowd control.
