Amid Trump tensions, India, US talk to firm up defense framework pacts

As trade concerns continue to shadow India-US ties, the two countries held the two plus two Intersessional Dialogue on August 25, where they reviewed key strategic priorities and discussed ways to advance defense and security cooperation.
According to a Ministry of External Affairs statement, the dialogue was co-chaired by Additional Secretary (Americas) Nagaraj Naidu Kakanur and Joint Secretary (International Cooperation) Vishwesh Negi, alongside Bethany P Morrison, US Senior Bureau Official for the Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs, and Jedidiah P Royal, Acting Assistant Secretary of Defense for Indo-Pacific Security Affairs.
