At passing-out parades (POPs) at the Indian Military Academy (IMA) in Dehradun and the Air Force Academy (AFA) in Hyderabad, around 700 officers were on Saturday commissioned to the two services.

- MAYANK SINGH @ New Delhi

At the IMA, a total of 451 officer cadets of 156 Regular Course, 45 Technical Entry Scheme and 139 Technical Graduate Course, Special Commissioned Officers (SCO-54), including 32 officer cadets from nine friendly foreign countries, successfully passed out from the portals of Indian Military Academy. The Commissioned Officers of the Indian Army will be joining at the rank of Lieutenant.

The POP at the IMA was special as Lieutenant General BKGM Lasantha Rodrigo, who came as the Reviewing Officer, was the former IMA cadet.

The Indian Air Force (IAF) on Saturday commissioned 254 new Flying Officers into the service, marking a significant milestone in the careers of these young men and women and reinforcing the strength of the force.
