Resort staffer booked for placing hidden camera in guest washroom

THE Pozhiyoor police have registered a case against Abhiram, 22, a staffer of Padma Island Resort, Poovar, for allegedly recording private videos of guests using a hidden mobile phone camera placed through a bathroom ventilation opening.
The accused has been charged under BNS 75(1) - offence of voyeurism, BNS 77 - voyeurism committed repeatedly and 66E of Information Technology Act - Violation of Privacy. He was produced in court and remanded in judicial custody for 14 days. Police are probing whether any of the videos were distributed online.
