THE encounter between terrorists and security forces in Akhal forest area in Jammu and Kashmir's Kulgam district entered the third day on Sunday, with two terrorists slain in the course of the operation and a security personnel injured.

The intermittent exchange of gunfire between holed-up terrorists and security forces continued in the Kulgam forest. Loud blasts and explosions could be heard from the area throughout the day.

Army helicopters and drones were seen hovering over the dense forested area to keep vigil on terrorist movement, while the Akhal forest area has been condoned off to prevent the terrorists from escaping.
