FIR against former Punjab DGP, ex-minister wife over son’s death

FORMER Punjab DGP Mohammad Mustafa, his wife and former minister Razia Sultana, along with their daughter and daughter-in-law, have been booked for murder and criminal conspiracy by Haryana Police in connection with the death of their 35-year-old son, Agil Akhter.

An FIR was registered at the MDC police station in Panchkula on October 20 based on a complaint filed by Shamshudeen Chaudhary on October 17, and social media posts by the deceased. Following this, a Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been formed to probe the case. Akhter, an advocate at the Punjab and Haryana High Court and resident of Sector 4, MDC, Panchkula, was found dead at his residence on October 16. A postmortem examination was conducted, and the body was handed over to the family, as no foul play was initially suspected.
