CONVENOR of Malenadu Raitha Horata Samiti Ti Na Srinivas urged the government to implement the report of Madan Gopal to resolve the Sharavathi evacuees' issue.
Talking to media persons here on Friday, Ti Na Srinivas said the state government has filed an interim application in the Supreme Court in connection with the Sharavathi evacuees' issue.
"The Supreme Court directed to hold secretary-level talks of both state and central governments. So, accordingly the survey work was initiated to denotify 9,129 acres of forest land. But, the government is giving up on the land measurement of thousands of farmers in the district. Why is this so? It is not understandable," he asked.
