CLAIMING that it has been receiving "repeated and conflicting" meeting requests by "unauthorised" individuals on behalf of various parties, the Election Commission on Wednesday said it decided that it would take cognisance of such communication only from heads of political parties.
A poll panel official said, "In view of repeated conflicting emails sent by unauthorised persons on behalf of political parties, the EC will take cognisance only of heads of parties, who are the official authorised representatives of political parties registered with EC and no other unauthorised person(s)."
