Chahal sizzles as Punjab secure unlikely victory
The New Indian Express Shivamogga
|April 16, 2025
YUZVENDRA Chahal and the other Punjab Kings bowlers engineered a thrilling heist as they defended 111 against the holders, Kolkata Knight Riders, at a raucous Mullanpur on Tuesday night.
After 18 years and over 1000 IPL games, this is the lowest total to be successfully defended as the hosts prevailed by 16 runs.
After opting to bat first, the hosts, thanks to their cavalier approach, had raced along to 39/0 before Harshit Rana and the spinners triggered a collapse.
It meant the hosts were bowled out with 4.3 overs left in the bank.
At the break, the visitors went back to the pavilion with a few smiles on their faces.
