CCFO Told to Probe Leopard's Death and Submit Report

TO dispel ambiguity surrounding the leopard found dead in the Tiger Reserve near Madagada Kere and the leopard reportedly captured in another district and released in the same area, the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (Wildlife), Bengaluru, has directed the Chief Forest Officer (CCFO) of Forests, Shivamogga, to conduct an inquiry and submit a detailed report within seven days.

As if to lend credence to speculation surrounding a leopard purportedly captured and later released in Emmedoddi forest region, a jeep and a canter were reported to have arrived in the vicinity of Emmedoddi Madagada Kere at the suspiciously early hour of 5:25 am on July 31. It is believed that this incident has some sort of connection with the dead feline.
