Engineer wife accuses OAS husband of deserting her, newborn baby at hospital

IN a shocking incident, the wife of a senior Odisha Administrative Service (OAS) officer on Wednesday night lodged a police complaint accusing him of harassment and cruelty by abandoning her and their newborn at the hospital three months back, and cutting off contact with them since.

In her complaint at the Mahila police station, 29-year-old Archana Das, an assistant executive engineer in the Panchayati Raj and Drinking Water department, also levelled allegations of mental harassment and abuse, intentional neglect, and willful abandonment of responsibilities towards her and their newborn child by her husband, mother-in-law Kabita Manjari Rath and sister-in-law Saina Sonali Mohapatra.
