BISRA police arrested three armed miscreants, including a juvenile, after a shootout on the Odisha-Jharkhand border near Rourkela in the wee hours of Friday.
Two of the three miscreants, Baneswar Singh (20) and Sibanath Singh (26) of Bisra, suffered gunshot injuries in their legs during the encounter.
Rourkela SP Nitesh Wadhwani said that at around 11 pm on Thursday, nearly eight miscreants armed with firearms and knives raided Dugru dhaba at Sarubahal, about 18 km from Rourkela. They fired one round at the leg of the hotel owner, Gangei Xalxo, looted ₹20,000 and three mobile phones at gunpoint before fleeing towards Teterkela.
