SIT arrests complainant for perjury in Dharmasthala case

The complainant, who had alleged multiple murders, rapes, and mass burials in Dharmasthala over the past two decades, was arrested on Saturday for "perjury" by the Special Investigation Team, officials said.

MANGALURU (KARNATAKA): The complainant, who had alleged multiple murders, rapes, and mass burials in Dharmasthala over the past two decades, was arrested on Saturday for "perjury" by the Special Investigation Team, officials said.

The masked complainant, has been identified as C N Chinnaiah. After a medical test, he was produced before judicial first class magistrate Vijayendra in Belthangady and the SIT's request for 10 days' custody for further probe was granted, officials added.

The SIT, led by senior IPS officer Pronab Mohanty, had inquired Chinnaiah on Friday. Inconsistencies were found in his statements and documents.
