The Supreme Court has taken suo motu cognizance (SMC) of the issues and the difficulties faced by cadets, who incurred disabilities during the military programmes.
After taking into consideration the several media reports that highlighted the plight of cadets medically discharged after suffering disabilities at premier institutions such as the National Defence Academy (NDA) and the Indian Military Academy (IMA), the SC took SMC and decided to hear the matter on its own.
According to the causelist, a two-judge bench of the apex court, headed by Justices BV Nagarathna and R Mahadevan is expected to hear on Monday the suo motu case titled "In Re: Cadets Disabled During Military Training Struggle".
