THE Maharashtra government’s decision to make Marathi speaking mandatory for auto and taxi drivers triggered a tussle between Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Nirupam and Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) workers on Friday.
Nirupam has written to state transport minister and Shiv Sena MLA Pratap Sarnaik to roll back the order that says auto and taxi drivers will lose their licence if they fail to speak Marathi. MNS workers staged a protest against Nirupam’s appeal.
