Vishwanath slams Siddu over state's financial status
The New Indian Express Mysuru
|April 03, 2025
MLC A H Vishwanath launched a scathing attack on Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, alleging that his government lacks financial discipline, leading to a surge in the prices of essential commodities, including milk.
Addressing media persons here on Wednesday, Vishwanath accused the chief minister of failing to maintain the state's financial stability. "The chief minister has turned a deaf ear to the problems of the common people. His reckless guarantees have pushed the state into an economic crisis," he stated.
The BJP MLC criticised the government's welfare schemes, labelling them as "reckless freebies" that have burdened the state's economy. "The financial condition of the state has deteriorated due to these unplanned guarantees. This is an irresponsible and foolish administration. The government has already spent ₹76,000 crore on guarantees. Imagine how many development projects could have been implemented with that amount," he remarked.
