HIGHLIGHTING the vital link between cultural preservation and academic advancement, Harish Shah, Chairperson of the Harish and Bina Shah Foundation and Managing Director of Signet Capital Pvt Ltd., delivered the Foundation Day Lecture at the University of Mysore on Friday.

His talk on "Learning from Heritage: The Jayalakshmi Vilas Mansion Museum and the University's Role as a Cultural Catalyst" emphasised the University's deep-rooted role as a custodian of the region's civilizational heritage.

Addressing the gathering, he said, "The University of Mysore is not merely an academic institution, but a living embodiment of the state's rich cultural memory." He further noted that beyond imparting education, the University has quietly nurtured art, history, and traditions that define the collective identity of the region.
