Nomadic tribe board will get more funds: HCM

DISTRICT Minister Dr H C Mahadevappa said the state government will consider providing more funds to the Nomadic and Semi Nomadic Development Board for the welfare of the communities.

Releasing a book ‘Ekathaari - An Autobiography of a Nomad’, penned by Kuppe Nagaraj which was translated to English by R Sadananda organised by Odalu Trust and Karnataka State Dombi Dasa's Welfare Association at Kirurangamandira on Sunday, Mahadevappa said Adivasis are the indigenous people of the country. "India belongs to adivasis, but ironically people who came to India from other places are overpowering the indigenous people. Indigenous people are worshippers of nature and there were no superstitions in the community. The roots of democracy lies in the lives of indigenous people while the roots of literature lies in folk," he said.
