COASTAL Diu is in collective grief, with 14 of its own lost in the Ahmedabad plane crash, including the brother of Vishwas, the lone survivor. A wave of anguish swept the town as the coffins began arriving one after another since Tuesday night.
Among the inconsolable was Vishwas, who survived the crash and returned home with his older brother, Ajay, in a coffin. Vishwas spared no thought for his luck, burdened by the pain of loss his survival couldn't justify.
"Why did you keep me alive... kill me too... now what should I do when I go home?" a weeping Vishwas kept asking at the funeral ground on Wednesday, breaking down as he gave a shoulder to his brother's bier.
