KSRTC Fined ₹30K Over Extra ₹1 Rounding Off Fare

The Mysuru District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission has imposed a fine on the Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) for collecting an additional ₹1 from a passenger by rounding off the ticket fare.
In its order dated July 7, the commission, including chairperson A K Naveen Kumari and member M K Lalitha, instructed KSRTC to refund the excess amount and pay ₹25,000 as compensation for mental agony, along with ₹5,000 towards court expenses.
