Citing an inscription installed by Mysuru Maharaja Nalwadi Krishnaraja Wadiyar at the dam's entrance, Lakshmana said it acknowledges that Tipu built a movi dam (a barrage) across the Cauvery to utilise 6.5 tmcft for irrigation in KR Nagar and Srirangapatna taluks. "Later, Nalwadi demolished the barrage and built the present-day KRS. Congress does not distort history like BJP and JDS,"
