Dr Srinivas expresses concern about more girls in Mysuru taking up smoking
STATING that every six seconds, one person in India dies due to tobacco consumption, senior consultant medical oncologist at the Bharath Hospital and Institute of Oncology Dr K G Srinivas appealed to tobacco consumers to give up smoking which is a major cause for cancer.
Speaking at an event to mark World Cancer Day, Dr Srinivas said the number of cancer cases has increased and feared that if the trend continues then there will be 300 per cent spike by 2050.
