CSRTI Trains People From 21 Nations In Sericulture

Over 30 from developing nations trained in pre and post-cocoon technologies
INDIA, a global leader in sericulture and silk production, is intensifying efforts to promote sericulture in developing nations. The Central Sericulture Research and Training Institute (CSRTI) in Mysuru, under the Central Silk Board, has been conducting international training programmes to support this initiative.
As part of this outreach, CSRTI has launched a 30-day training programme for over 30 participants from 21 third-world countries. This marks the seventh batch of international trainees since the programme's inception in 2014, conducted in coordination with the Ministry of Industries and Sericulture.
Trainees from countries like Egypt, Thailand, Ghana, Ethiopia, Cuba, and Uganda are participating. They are expected to serve as resource persons and facilitators for extension activities in their respective countries to encourage the adoption of sericulture.
