Ahead of budget, forum seeks agriculture college in Brahmavara

STATING that there is no requirement of any funds, but only an approval in the state budget to be presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah in March, the demand for an agriculture college in Brahmavara should be considered this time, said Ashok Kumar Kodgi, president of Udupi Zilla Krishika Samaja here on Thursday.
Speaking to reporters here, Kodgi said that the demand for an agriculture college in Brahmavara is a long-pending one. "The existing diploma agriculture college in Brahmavara is not preferred by the students as there are not many job opportunities for those who get diploma certificates. However, if a degree college is started with the available infrastructure and some additional faculty members recruited and B.Sc in agriculture course is offered, many would surely join the degree course as it would get them jobs in seed technology industry, pesticide and ti
