After a 25-Year Wait, Martyr's Widow to Get Site at KR Pet

The 25-year wait by the widow of a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) constable, who was martyred in an IED blast triggered by terrorists at Tral of Pulwama in Jammu and Kashmir, to have a piece of land is coming to an end at last.
The struggle of B C Geetha, wife of Sunderesha L B of Lingapura in KR Pet taluk of Mandya district, who was martyred on February 18, 2000, came to the notice of Upa Lokayukta Justice B Veerappa when he visited Mandya recently. The Upa Lokayukta pulled up the authorities for making the widow of a martyr wait over 25 years for a site. Following this, the Mandya district administration decided to allot a 30x40 sqft site to Geetha at Hosaholalu Layout in KR Pet taluk under the Urban Ashraya scheme.
