Vokkaliga Sangha oppose caste census, term it 'unscientific'

THE Kodagu District Vokkaligara Sangha including the various taluk committees of the community have strongly opposed the caste census report of the social, economic and educational survey recently presented by the state government in the cabinet.
In a joint press release, Vokkaligara Sangha District President SM Changappa and the other taluk presidents of the Sangha have criticised the report presented in the cabinet. The Vokkaliga community members termed the census as an unscientific survey and stated that the mention in the census that the number of Vokkaligaras in the state is only 61 lakh is a complete lie.
